I have a news flash for you—the bluest blue water isn’t in the Caribbean…it’s in Switzerland! I love spending time outdoors and near water, so our time Switzerland was super comforting for that reason. We were stationed in Zurich were we roamed the town and indulged in an entire vat of fondue. The prettiest part? A trip we took via train to nearby Interlaken for a day of adventure!
Our original plan involved skydiving but unfortunately we didn’t get a chance to due to a rainy overcast day. However, we made the best of it with a gorgeous hike around the Interlaken lake and river edge. The town itself was charming and tiny and filled with a lot of chocolate shops—the Swiss know their stuff! We ended up starving after our hike and stopped by a beautiful outdoor restaurant for a delicious lunch—complete with sheepskin blankets to snuggle under!
Another fun thing we did in the case of rain was take a chocolate making class through Funky Chocolate Club. Imagine being in a room that smells entirely of chocolate for two hours straight. Heavenly, right?! It was so much fun to learn more about the Swiss chocolate making process, and put our own spin on a few bars of chocolate. Unfortunately mine ended up getting ruined in my suitcase later on in the trip (sad!) but I definitely bought (and ate) my fair share of chocolate during our day in Interlaken so it’s all good.
