You guys. I’m a little nervous to make this announcement, I’m not going to lie. I’ve been sitting on this for a few weeks now, sort of brewing over whether or not I should just keep this under the radar or really go after it. Because it’s kind of scary. And it could tank. But why not give it a shot, right?
The Glossy Life is now on Etsy! Gulp. Ok. It’s out there. Really this came out of people asking me to print them images of shots that I had taken either for the blog or on various travels. The idea that someone would (maybe? might?) pay for a picture I’ve taken is kind of awesome and really, who couldn’t use a little side hustle gig.
Photography has always been a huge passion of mine, but it wasn’t until I started this blog (and subsequently invested in a really good camera and some lenses) that I really started to flex that “muscle” on a regular basis. I love documenting life through pictures—whether that’s shooting recipes for The Glossy Life, traveling in Europe or just wandering through the city on a lazy Sunday. It relaxes me and inspires me all at once and I’m hoping The Glossy Life Etsy shop will encourage getting out there with the lens even more frequently.
Right now, I have about 25 photographs for sale on the shop—ranging from a walk over the Brooklyn Bridge, to a misty waterfall shot and bright, summery palm trees in a row. Each print will have a 50-copy print run (meaning you’ll want to snatch up your favorite while you can) and will be printed on premium quality acid-free paper in archival inks made to resist fading. I learned so much through the process of really setting the shop up with care—finding a printer in New York City I trusted, test printing all the shots to make sure the colors printed the way I envisioned and trying out different kinds of paper to nail the effect I wanted. It was definitely a process—but I’m so proud of the end result, and I hope you will love it too. I can’t wait to hear what you think—if you buy a print, please Instagram it in your home and tag me with @alongobucco. I’d be so happy to see how it looks! Shop The Glossy Life on Etsy here—and if you’re wondering what my favorite shots are, I’d have to say this one, this one, or this duo styled next to each other (one//two).
